This week we welcome the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) back to the New River Gorge. IMBA will be rolling into town this Wednesday and will be hitting the ground running helping our local bike club and National Park Service better understand all aspects of cycling. The hope is to energize the local cyclists and help guide us in forming and maintaining the bike club. Also they will be working with the local NPS staff and teaching new trail building methods that address the different needs of cyclists. This new stacked loop trail is not designed to be your normal "park" trail. It will be designed to be not only fun but safe for all users. Want to know more? Call the shop or your local NPS office to find out the details..

DONT FORGET! This Wednesday evening at 7pm we will be meeting at Diogi's for some socializing. ALL cyclists are encouraged to come. This is not just a Mountain Bike event. We need to hear the concerns of all the different cycling disciplines

The shop has been super busy getting everyone back up and running for the season. We have seen a large increase in the number of Ladies getting into cycling this year. We love seeing that.
The local club has started forming with the election of our president Luke H! Congrats Luke. We are super excited here at the shop to finally have an organized group and voice to represent cyclists and advance cycling in this area. The future looks bright for our area.

The Fayetteville Outdoor Bike Park is going smoothly these past few weeks. We want to thank all the locals for being patient with our construction process. Getting a Bike Park built based on volunteer help is no easy task and does take a little longer. The up side is that with all of the help we have received there has been little need to pay the town workers for their time and that has left us with a pretty nice budget for features. This week we will be finishing up the fence and will be moving on to getting the tons of dirt in place for our "6-pack" section, huge berms and pump track rollers. We are out there EVERY SATURDAY 4:30 till ?????? so come on out, swing a shovel for a while and help get this project complete so we can start riding!

This weekend was just absolutely beautiful. With the trails and roads alike still a little wet it was perfect spring season riding. We set out with a group of 8 on the "Pax" loop over in Beckley and a good time was had by all but didn't come without paying our early season dues. A few stories have trickled back to the shop about some riders going down out there so we want to remind everyone to be careful in these early days and "warm up". There are still alot of cinders in the road and debris on the trail so be careful.. And remember, cross Rail Road tracks at a 90 degree angle... no matter what special tires or bike skills you have...

Work on the Freeride park went great this past week with the Fayetteville Town Maintenance guys bustin their humps to get the posts in the ground and then followed by us here at the shop to put up the fence. We know this is not the most exciting thing to see in a freeride park but is a necessity in getting this park open. Keep your eyes peeled for work dates and times. You can also join up for our Texting service. When ever we go out to the park to work we will give you a text and you can join if you are free.
